This Saturday Nov 1, 2008 8:00 am I was working at my office, I felt was the perfect moment to finish an educational project I want to present to an elementary school in the area for next year.
20 minutes later, my 2 little ones and my husband wake up and came to my office (second floor at my house) and said : “mom we are ready for breakfast!!!
Well…I just asked them for 5 more minutes to finish something.
While I finished, Federico my 4 years old, grabbed a marker and started painting on my board this significant paint that I want to share with you….
When he finished, he said: ” look Mom this is the planet which is below the moon in the outer space”
My husband asked: “Have you seen planets in the space?”
F: “Yes! This one is blue and green but has more blue than green”
Then he explained with his hands: ”If you think with your heart you give light to the planet and it will level it up where the moon is…”
I was amazed, my husband and me just open our eyes, and asked him, why he was telling that? Who told him that?
He is 4 years old!! He has never seen a solar system diagram before.
And His answer was simple: “I just know it mom”
Trusting and learning from kids is amazing!
Do you realize how much knowledge is in our kids?
Do we need to open our eyes and heart to listen what they have for sharing with the world?
Are We aware about our responsibility as parents and/or educators to make their educational process fun and appropiate to teh reality We are facing now?
Namaste!
